MaxLinear is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in developing Home Gateway Platforms. The team provides best-in-class home connectivity solutions on variety of products. Specifically, you will join the Cable Software Group that develop the SDK for the DOCSIS SoC enabling multi-gigabit home internet connectivity. In this role, you will focus on the following:

  • Verify End to End system use cases
  • Verify and build test setups for various network topologies 
  • Develop test plans for new features
  • Engage in new feature development as part of Agile scrum team 
  • Assist in feature development including different MxL Cable platforms 
  • Collaborate with other team members in software, debugging, customer support and issue reproduction 
  • Execute system testing and contribute to release quality reports 


  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocol family 
  • Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking and tools 
  • Wireshark packet tracing, debugging knowledge 
  • Hands on with scripting Languages with Tcl and/or Python and/or JavaScript 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Familiar with Cable Networking (DOCSIS ) – Advantage 
  • RDK or Voice experience - Advantage 
  • 2+ Year System Validation Experience  
  • BE/BTech in Electronics/Telecommunication/Computer Science Engineering or related 2+ years of experience, or MS/MTech +1 years of experience
