Responsibilities

The candidate filling this position needs to be an experienced systems/application software engineer with extensive optical transceiver knowledge in software areas. The main job function includes:

  • Support reference design software porting, integration, and debugging
  • Support generates reference code, application note, and user guide
  • Support system validation and customer evaluation
  • Secure design wins in tier-1 customers and manage strategic partner accounts
  • Work with global FAEs to support customers
  • Provide direct software integration/debug support to tier-1 customers and strategic partners. This requires up to 20% of travel to customer sites in Taiwan and other regions
  • Support internal host SW development work including API driver and tool development
  • Provide necessary support on ATE test development using Python. LabVIEW is an optional requirement
  • Teamwork to support tier-1 customers on critical system items
  • Conduct internal software training for the field applications team and external training for customers
  • Collect market and competitor information for marketing analysis; Collect customer’s software and system requirements
  • Generate application notes and test reports
  • Supports interoperation testing of data center switches and optical transceiver

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years experience developing optical transceiver products in C/C++
  • Extensive knowledge of optical transceiver products at the system and application level. MSA/CMIS knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to develop ATE SW (based on Python) for transceiver tests is highly desired
  • Familiarity with test equipment operation: Digital Communication Analyzer (DCA), optical/electrical clock recovery (CDR), protocol analyzers, Ethernet traffic generators, 100G/400G/800G switches, BER testers and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Experience in Ethernet/InfiniBand switch development/debugging is highly desired
  • Previous experience supporting high-volume IC products
